leadershipThe Muslim American Journalists Association welcomes its first Board of Directors, leadership selected through a membership nomination process. It is our goal to transform MAJA into an organization that meets the needs of Muslim American journalists in an evolving media landscape.

With a multitude of talents and hailing from different backgrounds, the new board is excited to get started. Without further ado... 

Shabina S. KhatriShabina S. Khatri founded MAJA in May of 2004, after graduating from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor with degrees in business and Spanish. She has worked for the Wall Street Journal and the Detroit Free Press. She currently lives in Doha, Qatar and has been freelancing for various news outlets, including Al Jazeera English.

Omar ChatriwalaOmar Chatriwala is a multimedia journalist who graduated from the University of Texas - Austin. He previously worked on a web-geared magazine for the Orange Country Register, writing, editing and blogging, while simultaneously launching MAJA's website. He moved to the Gulf in 2006 in time for the launch of Al Jazeera English, where he works as a web journalist.

Aman AliAman Ali is a newspaper reporter based out of New York City. He works for Gannett, the nation's largest newspaper chain and has previously worked as a Capitol Hill reporter in Washington DC. Ali was born and raised in Ohio and went to journalism school at Kent State University. He also works professionally as a standup comic.

Mariam JukakuMariam Jukaku became interested in journalism while at the University of California - Los Angeles. Jukaku graduated with a degree in computer science, but also worked for a large Muslim student newsmagazine called Al-Talib. She went on to get her master's in journalism from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University and recently worked as a beat reporter at the Star-Ledger in New Jersey.

Mariam SobhMariam Sobh is a Chicago-based broadcast journalist who has worked in both commercial and public radio over the last 8 years. She currently runs her own website, www.hijabtrendz.com, a lifestyle blog for the modern Muslim woman.

dear as l told you my name is Mr jackson jones, a 28 years old boy from Liberia the first son

to late Mr johnson jones a once minister in Liberia who was later killed during the problem in

Liberia on January 29th 1997' now i am in Ghana under refugee with my
mother' because after the death of my father my only brother Mr Alexandre jones was jailed

by the Aligation of the enemy and he died in the jail, now my uncle started to persecute us

about my fathers properties ' which he later snatched from us under breathing. now there is

nothing we can do than to run for our life' which is very important to us' now i am in critical

condition with my mother .some one to be under refugee with his mother to compare with

Ghana where things are very hard' every thing is high.
now i have decided to get married at this age' while i suppose to be in school by now' but

nothing i can do because i can not decide to go for prostitution' is over my dead body.in fact

you are the one i am looking for in my life for help' which i know that you can not disappoint

me in life.now the only thing that makes me to feel happy at this times is that my father left

the sum of $16.5 million U.S dollar in the finance house which i am the only person that is

aware of it' and the whole documents and contacts is with me because my father loves me

very much that was why he gave me every information about that money. now i have called

the finance house and they told me that unless i have some body who will represent me with

all the documents that is requaried. with out that they will not going to release the money.
so this is why i am looking for whom will go for it' so that will can use it to open a company

here in my country , and also ,who God fearing and trustworthy..so if you are interested in

helping me' feel free to reply. you can go for it' and transfer it to your account' then it will be

for us installed been in the bank because i want immediately after the transfer, you will send

me some money to prepare my traveling document and meet you over there to carry on my

education career, while my mother will start a very good business there.
